  Make sure you are running the latest Update for your release.
  The Jump Platform Products and all of the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 and AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011 Templates and Civil3D Style and Set tools will run better.

  If you have Raster Design, make sure you also download the Updates and Hotfixes!
