Autodesk released a whole new bunch of significant tools for Civil 3D subscription customers via what they call the Subscription Advantage Pack for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010.

General Enhancements
A variety of powerful Civil 3D enhancements for transportation design, survey, visual analysis, and general production. The new enhancements include:

Point Cloud Support
Import and visualize large sets of point cloud data, such as 3D laser scanning/LiDAR data sets with millions of points, into AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 with the new Point Clouds Feature. You might want to use LiDAR point cloud data and the Point Clould Feature to use the point cloud data for site surveys, digitizing survey features like building footprints, curbs, ditches, etc. Point clould data can also help you visualize complex topography and environments where what's around you can make all the difference between good and bad design.
Roundabout Layout Wizard
Lay out complex roundabouts, including signage and striping, based on common design standards using a new Roundabout Layout Wizard. After the initial horizontal geometry of a roundabout has been defined, you can dynamically move and edit the roundabout properties to optimize the design.
